I don't have alot of pictures, but as I get more I'll update the thread. Ugly Mural. I love it and hate it. On winter wheels. I DRIVE THIS THING ALL YEAR!
Oh and my interior -- got sick of people asking for a ride so I swapped out the bench seat for the buckets from my old Cavalier, and the center console as well. 7 cup holders in a 2-seat truck
Well I'm not to sure. I did want very badly to imitate that Nissan Hardbody that's at all the drift events.... I can just imagine this thing sitting low low low low and going sideways... but at the same time, I want to build in to handle good on a racetrack. I don't think anyone else has built a proper track-ready GMT400. However, there are a few things that WILL happen. I will be doing an independent rear suspension. I'm still doing research as to what the best setup would be for me, but it will happen. I have also decided that a t56 needs to call my truck home. Two pedals is just not enough. I miss shifting, and since a t5 swap is only a few hundred bucks less than the t56, I figured I might as well go for it. As far as the outside goes, the truck I have in my head is kinda... stupid. I've spent the greater part of the last 5 years drooling over imports, and it's reflected in my vision for the truck. I'm going to have my fiance (an amazing artist) paint a hood for me, whatever colors or designs she wants. I'm going to get the 4x4 wheel arch flares and mold them onto the body so it's kinda wide-body. The peice under the grill, sorta behind the front bumper is getting sticker-bombed when I have enough stickers... I don't really know how to describe the truck in my head, but it's going to look like it was built by a 21 year old Japanese guy lol. And as far as the interior goes, anyone who knows the 88-94 chevy trucks knows that the gauge cluster and radio and HVAC is on a large box bolted to an otherwise flat dash. I plan on removing this box and placing aftermarket gauges on the flat part with a visor over them. This should allow me to drop the seats down a few inches and still have good visibility out the windows. Lower seats mean I sit lower, meaning my weight is lower, meaning I should be able to control it just a little bit better. So all that ^^^ stuff... I know it didn't make much sense. My semi-coherent ramblings often leave more questions than answers. HOWEVER, if you would like to ask a question, feel free too shoot one my way. I'm just like you, I could talk about my own car for hours haha
Also, the IRS won't be happening til this winter at the earliest, so if anyone knows someone selling some parts to give Rico (thats what I named my truck. You can guess why) a 4"/6" drop, it would be appreciated if you could send them my direction. Thinking an axle flip (with frame notches) in the back and springs/spindles up front should work
This truck? I hear this truck was at the drift events at Proving Grounds but i was able to see it go. Apparently it was one of the best. The fine line of looks versus function is something people around here are big on. We like to be able to do more things then just go in a straight line. While that is impressive in its self. Not all of us can have something for one purpose I'm sure you use your truck as a daily also, but want to do more with it. I think your plans are good. Now little by little lets so it come together
