Summer has finally arrived! And with it, car events, left and right, from shows to racing to just hanging out with your automotive family. And let's face it, there's no better feeling than doing car stuff with a car that looks its best.

So, I was looking at James' car in the parking lot at work today and decided we should have a detail day. Thoughts, feelings, etc? We can get it set up to have someone come out and do a demo.

I'd also like to throw out the idea of a 'Detailing' subforum.

Are people just not checking the board or are we lacking interest? I think it's 10 slots to fill if we have a demo done, otherwise if there's less than that I could run a demo myself... Just note that if we have one done, it would be free, and if I do one, I'm going to charge to cover supplies.

Plus, I'll need to ditch my weak orbital for a D/A buffer to correct the paint on James' car. :p

I'm down, haven't done more than touchless gas station washes this year.

i love detailing. i just did a clay, polish and glaze on the GTO -- been doing my own stuff for years and i use bespoke detail products that are top notch.

here are some before and after pix from last summer's detail after the body shop that did some touch up paint did me a "favor" by running over it with the buffer "real quick"

i also did a deep polish and glaze on my buddy's brand new fiat 500 abarth about a two weeks after his delivery. really made the metallic in that car pop. still looks friggen amazing a year later.

and i also enjoy bringing new life back into old, faded plastics.

i'm also a stickler for a flawless interior detail and clean carpets...

i'd be happy to attend! :D

It's definitely a good time, and very rewarding, but it is indeed a labor of love. I (admittedly) default to Meguiars products because of their availability and relative quality, but I've been sold from day one on Chmical Guys products.

This coincides nicely with our little conversation on facebook. It needs a detail for sure. Most of the paint is new, but it needs a real detailing.
