Ginetta-Juno reveals LMP3 prototype design

It's only been a couple of weeks since the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) announced the formation of a new LMP3 class, and already we have our first constructor lining up to compete.

That constructor is Ginetta, the British sports and racing car manufacturer which recently acquired Juno, the racecar constructor founded by former Williams F1 engineering Ewan Baldry over a decade ago. With the two outfits now under the same roof, the Ginetta-Juno outfit has announced its plans to compete in the new third-tier Le Mans prototype class with its own chassis design, pictured above.

As with any other LMP3 design to follow, the Ginetta-Juno prototype will feature a similar closed cockpit with vertical stabilizer fin mounted atop a 420-horsepower V8 engine to be centrally supplied by an as-yet-unconfirmed manufacturer. Beyond that, the individual constructors will be free to tweak their own aerodynamics.

Ginetta-Juno plans to field its car in both the European and Asian Le Mans Series next season, with an eye towards returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the near future.
