They are building a fancy garage much like the Automotorplex. It is in Eagan and looks like it should be finished this spring I believe.

Think we'll see any cool car meets here as well?

Finished this spring? They need to update their construction pictures then. I think Tom said he drove by it recently and there wasn't much to report. I do hope they'd offer a similar public meet too - much closer for us southern suburb folk.

If they have a car show they should actually enforce the 'no rusty piece of shit' rule that cars and coffee seems to not care about. C and c has gotten more and more lame, they let 400 beat ass lexus/infinitis with hammered fenders or shitpile vw golfs in leaving no room for rare or well done or unique cars.

They let the brokeswagon in. I had Tim drive it as a joke thinking they wouldn't let it in...

Doesn't matter when you get there.

Nobody wants to see 30 non-M bimmers, 300 non-S Audis, a million G/Zs, and 500,000 Chrysler shitboxes, never mind all of the crap that's been neglected and dropped well below the minimum line for geometry retention in an attempt to make it something other than a pile of garbage.

There are cars that belong at C&C, and there are cars that belong two blocks away to prevent transferring their cancer and faggotry to cars that matter.

Like, I'm not trying to be mean or a dick or anything, but this is CARS AND COFFEE.

I like pretty much everything. If you're an enthusiast, and you care about your car, and you're not a bag of dicks, you're cool in my book. Everyone likes different things, and they're entitled to that. But at the end of the day, this event is and has been supercar oriented from the get-go when the original one was started out in Cali, and when it started up here, and that's not what it is anymore. Nice cars are constantly getting forced to park away from the event because some people have a sense of entitlement toward showing cars that shouldn't be down there. If there's room, cool, but if you're going to displace something nice or uncommon for something I see on a daily basis, that's not cool. That's not fair. And that's not in the spirit of what the event is supposed to be.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not considering my car worthy. Yes, it's as fast as a lot of the more expensive stuff down there, and that's fine. But it's got rust spots, it makes noises it shouldn't, it's my DD, and it looks like every other Evo out there. If I get told to park up top with the promise that nicer things are down below? No complaints. But if I have to park up top and go look at other peoples' stock sub-$20k-when-new DDs with wheels? Unacceptable.

I could get there the day before and still feel the same way. I don't care if my car gets parking or not (despite the fact that I have a standing offer from Louis to let him know if I. how up so they can guarantee a spot for me...his way of saying thanks for your service. ). I am sick of seeing a hundred me-too copies of the same car. I would rather your truck gets a spot than my car or another golf or another g35 or another srt4 neon, because you have something unique, and i think its shitty that you simply showing up five minutes later is the deciding factor that determines if the show gains more variety or gets more watered down with the same old bullshit.

Spaz hit the nail on the head.

My short smart ass remark worked.

I get it you guys, I was just pushing buttons.

You are right though about the crappy VW's, plain Bimmers, and the line of SRT4's. Unique is the way to do it.

I rolled in there summer of 2011 in this. You gonna hate? lol

The question would be, how do you regulate who gets in an who does not?

Just cause a vehicle looks like the one Chad posted up (and, for this example it has a hood). Doesn't mean that something isn't done to it that is epic and that will cause a crowd to surround it.

Of course there is the 'get there earlier' to get a spot now with C&C. And you'll see these groups of SRT4 guys planning up where to meet to get there at 6:30 and have a whole row to themselves.

Cars and Coffee, I go there for the people more then cars now. Most of the time it is the same cars every weekend, with the exceptions of course. As Spaz said, it is the people of like interests that I enjoy (Hence MNGG was made). Nothing beats looks at a interesting car, realizing the owner is right there, and shooting the shit with him/her for 20 mins cause you have commons interests.

So, IF, I do every hear back from the Eagan guy (which I have not yet.) What are some suggestions you guys would have on making a big meet, like Cars and Coffee, better??

If you regulate who gets in and who gets out then it becomes a Rice Killers Monday night meet.

i like when a club of some kind goes to a meet and parks and shows there cars, however when a club of 10+ of the same car goes and they all have the same or simaler mods to there cars it makes it boring and i find myself skipping whole sections for that reson

MN C and C has explicitly stated on multiple forums that cars with rust or body damage will not be allowed in. Yet when you get to the 'show' portion, there's rusty beat up piles of shit everywhere. Unless it's a ratrod style vehicle, but a g35 with hammered fenders to fit their stupid wheels does not count as a ratrod.

Enforce the rules that are already in place would be my only step to regulate it. I didn't make the rules, they did. The fact that they choose not to enforce them is watering down the show.
