i currently can't find the DIY disclaimer right now. but basically: mngaragegeeks nor the writer of DIY's are responsible for any damage that may occur while attempting any DIY's

This is my first DIY, so bear with me.

these are fairly simple to install but mine didn't come with instructions (apparently they are supposed to) and i had difficulties figuring out where to run the wires. but after input from GeneralPatton, Icherus, and NYRSlinger i figured out the easiest way to run the wires.

THIS DIY HAS THE REAR REFLECTORS CONNECTED AS RUNNING LIGHTS

    1. disconnect neg battery terminal ( i didn't, but why not be extra safe)
    2. pop trunk (obviously)
    3. crawl under the rear bumper and locate the rear reflectors
Here's what the rear of the clip looks like:

    4. pop out the reflectors the same way you do the sidemarkers. by pressing in the plastic clip thats holding the reflector in (repeat for both sides)
    5. remove the 5 or so clips on each side holding the trunk liner.

    6. unplug outer brake and reverse lights. on both sides.
    7. Remove both outer tails by removing the 2 golden nuts on each tail.

the inside of the outer tails (side touching the turnk) pulls out and slightly away from the car. the outside of the tails is held in by a clip, just pull straight back.
    8. feed extra wire, string etc down the gap below the outer tails until it reaches the ground.

    9. feed the wires from your new LED reflectors through the square hole where the main clip sits and make sure the reflectors snap into place good and tight.
    10. tie the wire, string etc to the wires from the reflectors and pull up and out of the tail light hole. (repeating for both sides)
    11. connect black to black and red to green w/ black stripe (wires them to come on with the running/parking lights)

    12. reinstall tails, connect all plugs, pin up trunk liner, close trunk and enjoy :D

Was there something preventing you from using the original license plate light wiring harness? Just curious.

I've done some similar things with wiring something to an unrelated wire that would still work when I wanted to and it just got too darn confusing later.
