my friend has a saturn sky and is in need of new tires before he brings it out in a couple weeks. he has been looking at Yokohamas (not sure on specific tire model tho) and has been quoted around 1300 for a set. He seems to think that run-flats are necessary since there isn't a spare, but the run-flats are whats jacking the price up. tires are 245-45-18 96v, and thats what he's sticking too (unless theres a reason to switch thoughts/ideas/input on brand/model?
Run flats suck. Get AAA. Run flats are light riding on solid tires, so theyll be VERY uncomfy. I also know joelle is all about the yokos lol.
think im going to steer him towards the star specs or dz101. have to see if i can get him away from the run flats first.
DZ101 are junk unless he's going to use them for drifting. Theyre loud, impossible to balance, and have little grip. But they are cheap. Not worth it in my opinion though.
No DZ101. Star specs are eh. RE-11's if he's willing to drop that sort of cash. You have to remember how many miles I had driven on mine this past summer and still had about 4/32nds of tread left. And you I beat the crap out of em too.
How many times did anybody catch me on any drives? Oh that's right no times....Hmmm....90hp isn't much guys. Pick up the pace!!!!! Jon, you can be a witness to the stickiness and quiet ride of them. Dumbo.
I like Yokos yes BUT if you are looking at price. They are never the cheapest option Star Specs seems to server people well and be cheaper. Erik LOVES his RE-11's It is a question on what he does with his car and needs these tires for I think.
