    Just kidding.

Anyways, my name is Dan (or as some at MAP call me, "ShitShow"). I'm one of the luck few shipping guys over at MAP, and I get the pleasure of being in the same room as your oh so mighty site leader, for 8-10 hours a day. It really is awesome (LOLZ).

My car, well its a DSM, and you guessed it, it's broken (for now). It's a '90 Talon TSI, 5 speed, dark cherry, with 90k on the clock. It has a handful of small mods, which will eventually spiral out of control, and I'll end up parting it out. I love my DSM.

But fo' realz.....here is what it has-
    Stock 6 bolt.
    Comp "272" cams.
Custom short route FMIC with GM MAF and translator (soon to come out for a MAF cable).
SAFC (soon to come out for ECMlink v3).
    Evo 3 16g.
    Lowered on Eibachs.
    Evo 8 Enkei Rims.
Defi Boost and EGT gauge (Ballin' outrageous).
    AEM wideband.
    EPROM ECU.
Junk tranny with second gear nearly gone (custom).
    ACT 2600 clutch.
    Manual Boost Controller.
    SCHWEET blitz blow off valve.
38mm External gate off the manifold.
    Turboback exhaust.
    PTE 650cc injectors.
    ..and some random other bits.

Off will come the junk trans, and a new-er one will go in. Ditching the safc for full V3 DSMlink, with a GM MAF cable (to rid of the translator). Going to get rid of the old external gate setup, and have one integrated into an o2 housing (Can't stand open dump). Might go with some bigger injectors, and a little bigger turbo, but this will be a DD for a bit, so I'd like to keep solid street response.

Pics to come, I know I fail hardcore by not having some ready, but I have barley touched the thing since purchasing it. :p

Gave it a bath the other day, but spaced on pictures :(. Project is getting little behind due to the state of mn being butt bandits (long story), but its going to be getting a tasty upgrade to one of my spare 16g turbos, and should be ready to rock next week. I hope to take it to the meet next week!

Thanks for the reminder! Actually my gmail reminded me haha.

Yes, it is true, the dsm has been sold for some time now. I picked up a 1995 Mustang GT. It's a 5 speed, has a handful of mods, ill drunkenly list them below-
    60k 5-OH!
    T5.
    4:10 gears.
    GT40P heads.
    Shorty headers.
Full exhaust, nothing special, needs to be redone.
    30# injectors.
    E303 cam.
    Walbro.
    Aftermarket AFPR.
Some valvetrain components it seems, have to get the VC off and see what's up, but they don't look factory from taking a peek in there.

That's most of it, I think. It needs a tune, but unfortunately, old school 302 stuff isn't too tuner friendly. It's fun to scoot around in, the gears def make it faster than it is, but I enjoy it. It's got a big Mishi radiator, and keeps super cool, which has me wanting to hit the road course up. There needs to be some suspension work before that, ill be going through all the bushings and such, and replacing them as I go. I want to get a maximum motorsports grip package of some sort, I know a guy, who knows a guy that may be able to help with that lol. Otherwise, cobra brakes, cobra rims, and a fresh coat of paint are really all I want. It's ugly right now, I won't deny that, the flat black sucks :(. A friend of mine wants to do it, so I think ill do a satin black instead..and I have a thing for gold rims..so that mayyyy happen.

Also, I recently started drinking strictly Budweiser and am working on a mullet.

Ask and you shall receive. One pic from FB. I don't enjoy taking pictures of this car, find too many flaws :/ needs a fresh coat of paint, and to fill all the badge holes. I sort of like having no badges, looks like v6 car then. Also, wing will come off, but not until I get it lowered. They look goofy otherwise.

Ill get some better pics one of these days. I need to build an intake for it before I take any underhood shots lol.

I would also say lowering is a must :)

BIR Proving Grounds maybe for it?

No Proving Grounds for the car, I will def. be there (BTW, $5 payout to anyone that can shotgun a beer faster than me ;) ). I would like to take it out on the road course, but it is nowhere near ready. I need to go through and replace some worn suspension stuff, fix a small exhaust leak, source some stock injectors, replace driveline fluids, get some better tires, and get it dialed in. Doesn't sound like a ton, but unfortunately money doesnt grow on trees, and I always seem to need more.

I did find a set of real cheap 17x9 cobra rims that I have my eye on. I def. need to fill out those massive rear fenders with some more tire.

LOL I happen to still have a beer can with a random hole in it. Cause Erik poked a hole in the can with his thumb, tackled you and forced all teh beer down your throat :p

    Silly wasted people :p

Well look what the cat dragged in...

Figured I'd throw an update this way and fill teh people in on what the plan is for the mustang. As of late, just been fixing little things here and there, just driving the damn thing. Can say having a v8 car has been much more fun than my past turbo cars, but I do miss the boost side of things...in saying that, I have fell in love with the FD here at MAP, and how simple the set up is (stock 5.3l chevy truck motor, big single, lots o' fuel, etc.). Here is a run down of what I would like to have accomplished with car by next spring.

    Engine-
-5.3l LM7 shortblock (factory stock, prob open up the ring gaps on the top for some boost, and throw some new bearings in).
-Built heads of some sort (working out the details on what I want to go with).
-Looking at a few different manifolds, but it will be an LSx style car intake manifold, prob an aftermarket cast one.
    -High flow Oil pump
-LS1 accessories to get it to all fit.

    Drivetrain-
-I have been in talks with a friend of mine at a viper shop, trying to get a hold of a blown viper spec t56, and get it rebuilt. If that doesnt work out, then a regular t56 will be sourced from somewhere.
-Ditch the 4:10 gears, find some 3:11's or 3:73's.
-Sticking with the stock solid axle 8.8
    -Twin disk

    Fuel-
    -Lots of it

    The Fun Part-
-Looking to toss a big single journal bearing PTE turbo on there. With how cheap we get them, I dont see a reason not to boost it.
-Tossing around manifold ideas, but that I can figure out when I have the engine in there.
-Tubular k-member (with LS mounts), control arms, and a coilover conversion for the front end (just lowering springs in the rear, will change eventually).

    Weight-
-she is def going on a diet. I will be gutting the interior, finding light seats, and will kick around the idea of a cage when the time comes.

Looking for some nice FR500 rims for it, have my eye on a set, and lots of rubber to get this thing to hook. I also decided on a goal for this thing (a far off goal, but a goal none the less). I would like to get the car reliable, at around 650hp on 93 pump gas. I will use HP tuners as far as tuning goes. The end goal, is to get this car out and do the mile with it. Down the road, I want to have it in the 200mph club (as far as I know, no stock bodied SN95 has went that fast). Like I said, it won't happen overnight, but I do want it running and driving by spring. Then I'll decide on paint and such. I know its a pretty vague list, but believe me, I have plenty of lists lying around, just getting all the details hammered out. Just thought Id say HI :D

OH, and what are your guys thoughts on this color? -
    [IMG]

Think I will grab a little plasti dip and see if I can mix a color similar to this. I love dark blues, I think it would look great.

I love that color :) Can you Plasti Dip a whole car? That will be interesting :)

Yes, you have to buy cans of dip (either pre-thinned or you need to thin it yourself) and then spray it using a gun. It's not cheap, plastidip has a low flashpoint so you need a spark-contained gun.

Yep, seeing ricer pete's car is giving me the urge to give it a shot. I also saw the comment about the gun needing to be spark-contained, have a few friends that have nice spark-contained guns, so no worries there. And if I hate it, I can take it off. Either way, I need to paint the car, the flat crap black isn't very nice haha.
