piston rings VS Valve seals

so after some drifting my car has started burnning a LOT of oil, when i stop for a second or two rthen accelorate a rather large bit of smoke comes out, rings? or valve seals?

 

Rings will smoke damn near all the time, stem seals will only smoke under heavy vacuum.

Could however be that you dropped a couple valve seals and that'll smoke all the time as well.

 

I would bet valve seals.

so i am inexperienced, is this something that i can do at home or should i take it to a machiean shop?

 

Not too bad, it's just annoying having to do a full HG job just to get to them.

 

It will be a weekend worth of work pluse a day to have the head checked out, or get a new head????

 

We've got a head of two in our garage LOL
