Checked mailbox and shipping statuses on stuff I ordered a month ago for both cars :/

USPS has my missing suspension bolt for the Saturn at their Mail Recovery Center (old one was questionable, replacing at same time as rear lateral link trailing arm) and GM discontinued it so either wait for shiny one from friend in Florida or try to pound out another rusty one from the junkyard here..

Hotchkis has been being slow on shipping out my end links for the BMW so I'm still running the solid rears and toothpick OEM fronts and I can't stand them for a DD car with larger swaybars... want to get them soon so I can get some wheel time in on them before doing some events this summer.

BluntTech (real place) has my endlink to lower control arm mounts coming in this week by Wednesday/Thursday hopefully..

Need to rebuild/clean some HLAs so I went and pulled some yesterday afternoon from the junkyard

So, I picked up a fully assembled, ready to drop in JDM Evo 7 longblock, because I need the head, and will be selling the rest.

There are lots of differences that I can see, especially on the head, and while they are all advantageous this puts me in an interesting situation... What Ron and company were sure was simply and external EGR system, after research, has turned out to be a complete and proper (minus an UICP with the proper hose fitting) factory ALS. The famed "Misfiring System". It's not going on the car now, but I will not be selling it, and will be fitting it at some point next year, with an extra long ground wire to switch it off for normal driving. Or on for the Lowry tunnel, however you want to look at it. :p

Steve and Brandon at Blunt Tech are great guys. I work with them daily.

Nice, get it running and see if you're actually louder than me with the popping and cracking. :)

Yeah, they were very good to work with, the name makes my juvenile side smile though

Today I got my car up to 100 without realizing it, slowed down when I saw a trooper... and then thought about some guy on the cavalier forum.. (IKR, who goes on a cavalier forum...) he posted a whole thread about how his car shakes violently at 80 mph. .... haha

I just realized today that the only main accessory component I got with the VII motor is a power steering pump... And I need one of those. I should check to see if it'll work on an VIII.

    Congrats!

I planned out the custom cold air intake and front mount intercooler setups that will be integrated into the Turbo FB. Will be relatively inexpensive for a fully custom kit compared to others, but either will still not be easy on the wallet.

I got the head reassembled on the Evo, going to bolt up the external components I want on pre-install and then get it back on the car tonight and start buttoning things up.

The head is on but not torqued, I'll be heading home after work to torque the head and pissobly put a couple other parts on. With how much PITA stuff I deleted this time around, after that it's basically the home stretch. I might get rid of a few more things while I'm at it, depends on how much I want to fight with the ECU though.

Regardless, I'll be at Sonic a bit later.

Subaru is back in the garage! We broke all 4 wheels loose again, which is good :)

  16. As some of you know, I've been working on the Jeep this weekend. This is what happened :)

    Just the Evo, NBD.

Drove it more today. It still hasn't blown up. I'm confused.

Put in a new air filter. Jeremy Clarkson inspired.
