I'm a friend of Spaz's and was referred here by Erik. As my bio says I built an RSTi about a year ago, Spaz helped a little bit to keep my sanity. I've joined this forum because I know Erik and he seems to be a good guy, I'm tired of forums filled with pricks and people that like to just have flame wars.

MNSubaru seems to have people that really don't know what their talking about and enjoy pissing contests more than anything else. I just want a place to call "home" for build threads that is full of people that I can call friends. Plus Sonic is my favorite fast food place so I'll be at the weekly meets when I can make it :)

Everything's kind of up in the air right now with my Subaru. The 99 RS2.5 chassis was a good starting point and but I need a new permanent one I can put time into, one with ZERO rust. I'll probably be getting a 2001 if I can find one this Winter or early Spring from CA/TX for a full summer swap. The engine is also blown (cracked ring land... go figure) and will be overhauled with a MAP built bottom end. I'll save the rest for the build thread that I'll be pulling over.

I also have a 2006 Evo IX that I bought almost new in early 2007. It's modded quite a bit but I refuse to put a bigger turbo on it, I like the throttle response.

    I've owned 7 subarus. 4 Legacys (1 t-leg), 1 GL-10 Turbo, 2 GC8 Imprezas. I've owned a 1986 Dodge Omni GLH-T, a 1996 3000GT VR4, a 98 GSX, a 91 Laser RS Turbo, a 93 Eagle Talon TSi-AWD and of course my Evo. The pattern here is usually AWD and Turbo and a huge waste of money/time :)

My hobbies include computers, PC Gaming (BF3 anyone?), road biking, programming, electronics, etc. I'm basically a huge dork, that's what's in now though right?

Anyway I'm looking forward to contributing to a new forum, here's some pics of my current cars.

I still find it amusing that out of all people you kept ME around during the swap for sanity. That was a decent drive for me every night too, good times though. It'll be nice to do it for the motor, get back into an almost daily wrenching routine again.

What a pair you own :) A Subie AND and Evo. I love both, would be hard pressed to choose between them. BUT since we already have the Subie, I guess I go that way for now :) But there is no sound like an Evo with a Lumpy Cam idle :D

And as always (most people know this), we are more then willing to help on people projects. We have a large tool set and a garage. Though come winter time we store 3 cars, so there is no room then :p BUT our drive way is known to house 'all' the cars and people come on over to work on them :) It is a good time.

Erik has told me a lot about you and your cars, so I'm hoping to see you more often :) Wednesdays... be there :)

Either way, glad to have you on the forum! We will hopefully, always keep it a spot where no matter what you drive or do to it, you will be welcome here :)

Thanks a lot guys (and girls)! I'll have to make it to a few more meets, the last two weeks have been insane because I've been working 16 hour days. :(

I will be buying the 04 STi this Friday which means my GF isn't the happiest but I'm selling my blue RS I didn't show here soon once I have the title from the Government, WOOOH!

Then I just have to decide whether to rip the parts out and put it in a mint RS.

Meets are now at Carbones for the winter unless we get a warm spell :) Hope to see you there, with or without a new car :)

How much you looking to sell the RS for? I know a guy looking for one BUT I think he is looking at cheap cars :/

I'm actually still at work :( I'll probably make it out next week with the STi :D Sorry I didn't make it this week!

I'm asking for $4k and pretty firm on that since I bought it for $3500 not running and put a LOT of work into it to get it where it is today. There's little rust on it and it's a good running car, the only thing about it is it has an EJ22 instead of the 2.5, but IMO I would rather have that since they're MUCH more reliable than the EJ251 of that era.

Here's a pic of the new addition, it's an 04 STi with 94k on the dial. Basically stock with a Bosal (my favorite muffler) catback and an SPT intake. It was tuned by Shane at DB and made like 265WHP (roughly 300 at MAP). I bought it from my best friend that's on a bike trip across the country (bicycle that is) and got a great deal on it. He didn't take very good care of the body/interior that well but I got it cleaned up pretty nice. Not sure what the next steps will be, I need to get fog light covers for it and it re-tinted, but other than that it should be a good car. I can't wait to do the timing belt =/

Very nice! Just get fog lights for it instead :p Who needs covers!

So you are trading one blue car for another :) A man after my own heart :D
